Odin New York Opens Holubar Pop-Up

Holubar just opened its first U.S. pop-up shop at Odin New York. Founded in 1946 in Boulder, Colorado, the company developed a reputation for innovation in the design and manufacturing of lightweight yet rugged outerwear and sleeping bags. In the 1950s Holubar Mountaineering started using nylon – at the time a revolutionary material – in combination with down filling and came up with the Mountain Parka. They also made the orange mountain parka worn by Robert De Niro in Michael Cimino’s critically acclaimed 1978 film The Deer Hunter.

By the late 1970s business had stalled and Holubar Mountaineering was absorbed by The North Face in 1981 before being relaunched as a separate brand in 2010. Today, Holubar is an Italian firm producing high quality sportswear inspired by the Holubar archives using premium fabrics from Limonta. Odin New York’s Holubar pop-up store showcases selected styles of outerwear and accessories in a variety of colors.
