Watch Porn: TAG Heuer + Porsche Unveil New 911 Carrera Themed Chronograph

TAG Heuer and Porsche just launched the fourth installment of their ongoing design collaboration, two limited-edition chronographs inspired by the first 911 to bear the Carrera name. Introduced on 5 October 1972 at the Paris Motor Show, the 911 Carrera RS 2.7 was the fastest German production automobile of its day and the most powerful street legal 911 available. Similar to its namesake, the TAG Heuer Carrera x Porsche RS 2.7 Chronograph is equipped with the watchmakers most advanced movement, the in-house manufactured Calibre Heuer 02 – with an outstanding 80 hour power reserve. The movement’s co-branded oscillating mass is customized to represent Porsche’s three-spoke steering wheel and visible through the sapphire crystal case back. The watch comes in a stainless steel ‘blue edition’ ($7,750.00) and an 18K 5N rose gold ‘red edition’ ($23,550.00). Both models feature hour and minute hands filled with white Super-LumiNova, a minute counter at 3 o’clock, a second indicator at 6 o’clock, and an hour counter at 9 o’clock. Limited to 500 pieces, the blue edition comes on a stainless steel bracelet with an additional NATO-style strap decorated with Porsche and Carrera markings. The red edition comes fitted with a red alligator strap and is even more limited, with only 250 pieces available.
