The Constellation Observatory is the first-ever two-hand watch with Master Chronometer certification. An acoustic testing method developed by the Laboratoire de Précision made the certification possible. Located in Switzerland, Laboratoire de Précision is an independent, neutral testing facility created by Omega. Two new Master Chronometer calibres power the collection. Each movement features the Constellation Observatory medallion, first introduced in 1952, on a skeletonized rotor-base. The Calibre 8915, built for the precious metal editions, features a rotor and balance bridge in either 18K Moonshine or Sedna Gold. The Calibre 8914 powers the steel models with a rhodium-plated finish. Both are Omega Master Co-Axial movements built to the highest precision standard. Launching as a nine-piece collection, the design retains many classic mid-century touches. These include: the dodecagonal pie-pan dial, angular dog-leg lugs, faceted kite shaped indexes and dauphine hands – all defining elements of the Constellation.
