Maharishi and Birkenstock teamed up to design a rugged new version of the Mogami Terra sandal. Introduced in 2024 as part of Birkenstock’s Active Range, the 2 strap Mogami combines the brand’s comfort-first design with outdoor-ready functionality. The Mogami Terra Tech builds on this foundation, with add-ons and upgraded materials. Made in Germany, the suede uppers are secured by nylon webbing straps with quick-release metal buckles. Anatomically shaped footbeds ensure all day comfort, while the molded rubber soles provide traction and stability.
The collaboration includes a few extras inspired by the M.A.L.I.C.E. system (Modified All-Purpose Lightweight Individual Carrying Equipment). Utilized by Maharishi for its own accessories range, the system was introduced by the US Army in the 1960s. For the Mogami Terra Tech, this means a detachable cross-body strap and double carabiner that allows the sandals to be slung over the should or clipped onto a bag. Split-toe tabi socks are also included with each pair of sandals.
