Watch Porn: Omega’s New Railmaster Channels The 1957 Original

Omega’s first Railmaster was released in 1957 as part of a watch trilogy known as the Professional Line. This collection included the original Speedmaster for racing drivers, the Seamaster 300 for divers, and the Railmaster for railway staff. What made the original Railmaster standout was its superb anti-magnetic properties. Shielded by a protective inner case, the watch was able to resist magnetic fields of up 1,000 gauss – guaranteeing precision for engineers, conductors and track inspectors who worked around rail lines. By comparison, most anti-magnetic watches at that time offered protection around 60 gauss. Today, the model is a favorite of collectors, attracted by its heritage and retro style. Several Railmaster revivals have occurred since 2003, including this year’s new 38-mm versions in stainless steel.
