Inis Meáin AW20 Gives Traditional Gaelic Knits A Modern Touch

Season after season, Inis Meáin Knitting Company finds inspiration in the communities, traditions and landscapes of its namesake island – the second largest of the three Aran Islands in Galway Bay, Ireland. For AW20 it was the traditional workwear worn by Aran Island farmers hand-harvesting seaweed on the beach to use as fertilize on their crops. The textures and colors of the ever-changing shore, sea and sky inspired the colors, stitches and patterns used in the collection. The stormy dark blues, dark peaty brown and melange gray knits in authentic Aran and Guernesy patterns are all crafted in the brands local workshop using Italian merino and cashmere blends.
