Nike’s G.T. Cut Is Now Lower & Lighter

The new G.T. Cut 3 is the first Nike Basketball shoe with a ZoomX Foam midsole. When adapting ZoomX to a basketball silhouette, the Nike design team had to balance the foam’s ‘next-level responsiveness’ with a low-to-the-ground court feel. To achieve this, the stack height on the G.T. Cut 3 is lower to the ground than its predecessor, the G.T. Cut 2, and it’s also lighter in weight.

The lightweight textile upper is reinforced using Flywire technology to help lock in the forefoot, while a TPU component wraps around the lateral sidewall – helping to keep players over the footbed when stopping and cutting on a dime. Nike added modified herringbone pods on the outsole to improve traction. The herringbone pattern was developed using pressure mapping technology to inform areas players need multi-directional grip to reduce slipping and sliding.
