Dunhill’s Latest Capsule Inspired By Archive Pieces From The 1920s

From fine jewelry inspired by Dunhill’s automotive heritage, to cross-body bags based on mid-century attaché cases, Mark Weston and his team continue to mine the brands extensive archive for inspirational gems. Their latest release is contemporary take on the Art Deco movement. In the 1920s and 30s Dunhill created a series of travel clocks concealed in highly finished cases. The stylized geometric decorations of these ‘La Captive’ clocks inspired the Archive Deco capsule collection of accessories and apparel. The collection’s small leather pieces combine Saffiano embossing with digital printing to create a tactile contrast of textures in a palette of black, white red and blue. While the casual and knitwear styles feature color blocking, striped detailing and intarsia patterns that reference classic deco motifs.
