Filson Refines Military-Inspired ‘Service Boots’ For FW20

Before switching to shined black leather in the late 1950s, standard-issue US Army combat boots were made of natural, tanned cowhide. Last year, inspired by these vintage military boots, Filson released the rugged Service Boots, made with full-grain, roughout leather and a lugged Vibram® sole. Now, Filson is updating the Service Boots for Fall 2020. The new Service Boots 2 keeps the military-inspiration and rugged construction of the original while upgrading the overall design by mixing the roughout suede with a smooth, oiled leather panel. The second iteration has the same Vibram® sole, suede-lined interior and triple stitching at stress points for improved durability. These all-weather boots also include Goodyear storm-welted sole construction and a gusseted tongue to prevent water entry.
