At first glance, the Bell & Ross BR-X5 Meteorite watch appears to be an exercise in restraint. Streamlined steel accented in tones of silver and black. But within the pared back design is an extra ordinary element. The dial is crafted from the Muonionalusta meteorite, an extraterrestrial rock billions of years old. This particular meteorite fell to earth around 1 million years ago. Preserved beneath permafrost, the Muonionalusta meteorite was discovered in Sweden in 1906. When cut, the pieces revealed natural crystalline patterns. Created through a slow cooling process over millions of years in the vacuum of space, these patterns cannot be artificially reproduced. As a result, every BR-X5 Meteorite dial is one of a kind.
Limited to 250 pieces each, the BR-X5 Meteorite is available on a steel bracelet ($9,700.00) or a black rubber strap ($9,200.00). The 41 mm steel case echoes the design codes of the BR-X5 collection: multi-layered architecture, openwork structure and four visible screws.
