Inspired by the rotation of helicopter blades, the Bell& Ross BR-03 Helipad features a striking visual illusion. Its dial showcases a helicopter hovering over a helipad, with the seconds hand acting as a rotor – continuously marking the passing seconds. This innovative design is the latest addition to the Flight Instruments collection. Focused on the B&R’s aeronautical identity, the collection functions as a laboratory where the brand’s engineers push the boundaries of its signature circle in a square silhouette. The collection includes several sought-after editions, like the: BR 03-92 HUD, BR 03-92 Red Radar, and the BR 03-92 Radiocompass.

The design of the BR-03 Helipad was inspired by the continuous circular motion of the seconds hand at the center of watch dials. This steady rotation recalls the rhythm of helicopter blades. To recreate the image of an aircraft in a stationary hover just above a landing base required precision engineering. Bell & Ross adapted the BR-CAL.327 calibre, a three-hand automatic movement, to create the illusion of an advanced horological complication.
Representing the helipad is a black rotating disc, circled by a luminescent yellow index on the outer scale. The minutes are indicated by the fuselage of the helicopter, with its nose serving as a pointer. Finally, the seconds hand is replaced by the helicopter blades. These blades spin tirelessly at the center of the watch, measuring the passage of seconds with fascinating dynamism.
The design is house in a BR-03 case made of micro-blasted black ceramic. With a moderate thickness of 10.60 mm and water resistance of 100 meters, the 41 mm BR-03 Helipad is more versatile than the original, larger circle in a square BR-01 design. Its matte finish gives the case a stealthy, technical look and reinforces its links to aviation instruments.
