TAG Heuer became the Official Timekeeper and Scorer of the Indy 500 in 2004. In the decades since, the brands have collaborated on twelve limited editions – all sought-after by watch collectors. For lucky number thirteen, TAG combines Indy’s racing heritage with a cutting-edge solar-powered movement. Limited to 1,110 pieces, the TAG Heuer Formula 1 Solargraph X Indy 500 features the Indy logo on the dial and a brick patter on the caseback. Shortly after its creation in 1909, the Indy 500 Speedway was paved with 3.2 million bricks. Though the circuit was entirely covered in asphalt by 1961, a strip of the original bricks was left intact at the start/finish line.

The 38 mm case design draws from earlier Formula 1 models. Framed by the F1’s TH-Polylight bezel, the black dial features a date at 3 o’clock and a brown flange with a 60-second scale. Super LumiNova filled hands and indexes ensure visibility. While the F1’s signature shields at six, nine and twelve o’clock anchor the dial.
Powered by the Solargraph movement, the watch harnesses both natural and artificial light as an energy source. A one-minute exposure to direct sunlight powers the watch for an entire day. A full charge, reached in under 40 hours of exposure, delivers up to ten months of power. Even after stopping, the watch restarts with just ten seconds of exposure, and its accumulator offers a lifespan of up to fifteen years.
