Arc’teryx developed its next-gen Sylan trail shoe with insights from pro runners. The Sylan 2 features a re-engineered mid-sole with two critical components, a new carbon fiber plate and an ultra-responsive foam compound. The carbon fiber plate improves both propulsion and stability on uneven terrain. While the shoe retains its rocker design, it now includes a layer of ultra-responsive foam to maximize energy return and reduce fatigue. For the uppers, Arc’teryx used a new, super-light woven material to improve air flow. The Vibram Megagrip outsole with LITEBASE tech (which reduces overall sole weight) provides grip on wet and dry ground. Combined, these improvements make the Sylan 2 Arc’teryx’s fastest trail running shoe to date.
