Watch Porn: Seiko Launches Innovative New Prospex Speedtimer

The Prospex Speedtimer SPB513 features a rotating internal bezel that functions as a countdown timer.

Seiko’s new Prospex Speedtimer SPB513 combines retro style and innovative mechanics. The streamlined 39.5-mm stainless steel case and multi-row bracelet echo the design and proportions of a Speedtimer chronograph introduced in 1972. While the SPB513 is not a chronograph, this time-and-date model does feature an additional timing function. Instead of a stopwatch with sub-dials, the SPB513 uses an internal rotating bezel as a countdown timer – measure intervals of time from 60 to 0. This function is controlled by the secondary crown at 4 o’clock. After rotating the bezel to align the time interval with the minute hand, the hand will move toward the zero marker while tracking the remaining time. The final 15 minutes on the bezel ring are highlighted in the same orange color that coats the tip of the seconds hand.

Underneath a curved sapphire crystal, the SPB513 features a crisp silver-white dial with a color-matched date disc at 4:30. The blackened hour markers are tipped with the same LumiBrite coating that fills the hour and minute hands. It’s powered by Seiko’s 6R55 automatic movement, known for its reliability and 72 hour power reserve. The movement is covered by a solid steel screw-down case back that ensures water-resistance to 200 meters. Available from September 2025.
