Nike’s Vomero Premium and Vomero Plus road running shoes are designed to make running easier on the body. With improved cushioning, responsiveness and impact protection, both shoes deliver a comfortable ride for athletes of all abilities. The Vomero Premium combines ZoomX foam with exposed Air Zoom units in the heel and forefoot, improving feedback from the cushioning. While the Vomero Plus is built with a full ZoomX midsole to offer an even softer, lighter and more responsive ride than the Vomero 18 — a favorite among runners as the icon of Nike’s maximum cushioning line of road runners. The Vomero Plus will be available August 7 with the Vomero Premium following on October 16, at nike.com and select retail locations.
The Vomero Premium is designed to meet the needs of elite marathon runners, who traditionally use a combination of super shoes and soft trainers while preparing for a race. This new design offers marathoners a single super trainer to help them run more, recover faster and achieve race-day goals. Drawing inspiration from the anti-gravity treadmills elite athletes use to increase their mileage, push their bodies and speed recovery, the Vomero Premium combines a 55-mm heel stack height with ZoomX foam and Air Zoom to create a low-impact running experience.

The Vomero Plus improves on the cushioning and responsiveness of the Vomero 18. According to Nike it’s the ‘ideal choice for runners aiming to increase their mileage with a plush ride that’s easy on the body, as well as those looking for a recovery shoe that’s comfortable from the first steps to the final mile.’ This silhouette features a full-length ZoomX foam midsole with a 45-mm heel stack height. This is roughly similar to Nike’s Vomero 18 and 4-mm taller than the Invincible 3. Designed for long runs, the Vomero Plus midsole uses an upgraded version of Nike’s lightest and most responsive foam to deliver a propulsive feeling and roughly 85 percent energy return.
