When Stone Island decide to reinterpret a model from Persol’s archive they could have gone back over one hundred years, the Luxottica subsidiary is one of the oldest eyewear firms in the world. Luckily, the collaborators settled on a pair of sunglasses from the always inspirational 1970s. The design team transformed those retro eyeglasses into the Stone Island x Persol PO240S, a new pilot style with gunmetal frames and co-branded, light blue polarized lenses – one logo per lens. Persol’s famous arrows are stamped into the temples and Stone Island’s compass logo is embedded in the yellow temple tip. Each pair of sunglasses comes in a co-branded box with a dedicated case, branded lanyard and special cleaning kit. Available from September 29 at stoneisland.com and persol.com.
