Richard Mille’s RM 33-03 Automatic balances the elegance of classic cases with the maximalist aesthetics of the brand’s iconic barrel-shaped watches. The 33-03 also introduces greater complexity to Mille’s lineup of circular models. The skeleton dial features gold numerals mounted on rigid titanium rails positioned between the flange and the movement. Hovering above the Calibre RMXP3, the 12, 3 and 9 o’clock markers highlight the movement’s three-dimensional architecture. Like the bridges, the thinness of the dial is a technical feat that also serves a function. Spanning the entire calibre, it draws the eye to the small seconds counter at 6 o’clock.
Succeeding the RM 33-02 released in 2020, the RM 33-03 is thinner and lighter than its predecessor. The 41.7-mm case is a mere 9.7-mm thick and available in titanium or Carbon TPT and red gold. Secured by the brand’s signature titanium spline screws, the tripartite case features a combination of satin and polished finishes. Despite its slender silhouette, the case is scratch-resistant and extremely hard-wearing.
