Watch Porn: TAG Heuer + Porsche Launching Their Sixth Collaboration

Along with a shared passion for motorsport, TAG Heuer and Porsche share a source of inspiration. The legendary Carrera Panamericana race – reputedly one of the most dangerous in the world – inspired Jack Heuer to use its evocative name for his storied 1963 chronograph and Porsche to name its most powerful model in its honor. After five successful co-branded Carrera timepieces, the brands are introducing their sixth creation: the TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph x Porsche Orange Racing. Based on the famous Carrera Sport Chronograph, the 44-mm DLC-coated steel case houses a black dial with Arabic numeral minute indicators modeled on vintage Porsche speedometers and a trio of chronograph counters – a minute counter at 3 o’clock, seconds at 6 o’clock and hour counter at 9 o’clock. The vibrant orange used throughout the watch recalls the color of heat sparks made by cars speeding around asphalt racetracks. This orange color can be seen on the Porsche logo engraved into the black ceramic bezel next to the tachymeter scale, on the lacquer used on the crown, and on several dial details, including the orange seconds hand. The custom oscillating weight pays homage to retro Porsche steering wheels. Accented with black and orange touches, the weight is visible through the sapphire glass case back. As a finishing touch, the black calfskin strap has vivid orange stitching.
