Drake’s released a limited edition capsule collection to celebrate author Jason Jules and his seminal book ‘Black Ivy: A Revolt in Style.’ In the book, Jules examines “a period in American history when Black men adopted the clothing of a privileged elite and made it their own.” Using images of famous, infamous and not so famous Americans in the ‘50s and ‘60s, Jules demonstrates how this generation took Ivy and made it edgy in ways that continue to influence modern menswear. Drake’s three-piece capsule includes a sweatshirt ($255.00) in navy and grey, and a crisp white t-shirt ($115.00). While the book features images of James Baldwin, John Coltrane, Sidney Poitier and Malcolm X, its an image of two achingly cool young men hanging-out in LA in 1966 that inspired the illustration featured on the back of each piece.
