Watch Porn: Blancpain Adds A Titanium Diver To Bathyscaphe Lineup

Blancpain just added a titanium model to the Fifty Fathoms Bathyscaphe collection. Built for diving, the sharply contoured 43-mm case is made of satin-finished grade 23 titanium. A high-end titanium rarely used in the watch industry, this low density metal is light, comfortable and highly resistant to shock and corrosion. The matte finish of anthracite-colored dial sets off the luminescent hands and markers, while the matching titanium bezel has a satin-finished ceramic insert and a Liquidmetal time scale. The diver runs on Blancpain’s Calibre 1315 self-winding movement with a five-day power reserve and a silicon balance-spring that is resistant to magnetic fields. Highly finished with snailed and chamfered bridges and a gold oscillating weight, the movement is visible through the transparent sapphire case back. Water resistant to 300 meters, the watch is available on a nylon NATO strap ($11,600.00), a sailcloth strap ($11,600.00) or a matching grade 23 satin-finished titanium bracelet ($14,100.00) – a first for the Bathyscaphe line.
