Watch Porn: Oris + Swiss Air-Rescue Rega Launching Third Customized Series

Oris has produced specialist aviation watches for over 80 years, partnering with leading organizations, military units and display teams. In 2016, the watchmaker launched a partnership with Swiss Air-Rescue Rega, a highly respected non-profit air rescue servicing Switzerland and Liechtenstein. For their third collaboration, Oris consulted with Rega’s staff to find out what they need in a wristwatch. The Oris Big Crown ProPilot Rega Fleet L.E. ($3,400) is the result. Based on the teams feedback, the black dial has luminous, high-contrast white hands and numerals that can be read in a split second. To reduce glare, the 41-mm stainless steel case is coated in anti-reflective gunmetal grey PVD. It has a clearly indicated second time zone. And engraved into its rotating bezel are a red triangle for timing the golden hour – the first hour after injury during which a patient’s chances of recovery are highest – and a pulsometer scale, read off with a white-tipped central seconds hand. Each watch comes in a red Ventile travel pouch with a black leather strap and a red rubber strap equipped with a quick-change system.

Rega operates 18 state-of-the-art rescue helicopters and three fixed-wing aircraft from 13 bases. Each of these 21 aircraft, identified by their registrations, has its own case back in the Rega L.E. collection. Only 100 of each will be made.
