Maharishi’s New Multi-Patch Poncho Channels 60s Army Style

Maharishi’s SS21 collection explores the modifications American soldiers made to their uniforms while serving in Vietnam. In the early 1960s standard issue US Army uniforms were not designed for Southeast Asia’s tropical climate, so soldiers customized their fatigues to deal with the heat and humidity. The Multi-Patch Panelwork Poncho takes style cues from the modified jackets worn by USO entertainers – adorned with souvenir patches and badges collected while touring bases and camps throughout the war zone. This modern reinterpretation is made with 1960s era US Army cotton poplin reproduced exclusively for Maharishi, and decorated with 60s themed embroidered patches.
