SMR Days Launches Accessories With New Maison Bengal Collaboration

Created to support Maison Bengal’s fight against poverty in Bangladesh, the sustainably produced tote is SMR Days’ first ever accessory.

SMR Days teamed up with Maison Bengal for a capsule collection of hand-woven jute tote bags – the menswear labels first ever collaboration since launching last year. Founders Dan May, Gautam Rajani and Adam Shapiro wanted to work with a brand that shares their commitment to fair trade and sustainable, ethical production. Maison Bengal works to alleviate poverty in Bangladesh by employing women to create bags, baskets and housewares using traditional techniques passed through generations. “We were completely blown away by the work that Maison Bengal do, and the women, families and communities they support” said Dan, Gautam and Adam. Made from locally sourced jute, the Marlo and Buddy tote bags are perfectly sized to hold all of the essentials, plus a few extras. The straps are long enough to carry over your shoulder or in the crook of your arm. Each bag is finished with a co-branded, embossed leather luggage tag.

The SMR Days x Maison Bengal capsule (£135/$185) is available exclusively at smrdays.com. All profits from sales made in February 2021 will go directly to the women and communities in Bangladesh.
