Prada’s Fall/Winter 2020 Linea Rossa collection features Extreme-Tex®, a new sustainable performance fabric made from recycled polyester. Developed in-house, the fabric was “born from a desire to combine the vanguard of textile technologies with sustainable production practices.” After three years of research, Prada produced a material that is lightweight, water-repellent and durable, without the use of PFCs – or other harmful compounds typically used in the waterproofing process. As an added bonus, a graphene based polyurethane membrane gives Extreme-Tex thermoregulatory and antibacterial properties.
