Paul Smith’s Passion For Abstract Art Informs The AW20 Red Ear Collection

Paul Smith started producing his Red Ear collection in Japan twenty years ago as a homage to the countries denim industry and a shared appreciation for American workwear and military surplus. This East meats West philosophy informs the AW20 Red Ear collection. The unique brushstrokes of renowned Korean abstract artist Ha Chong-hyun provided inspiration for the collections fabrics, textures and colors, while elements from the work of Polish artist and poster designer Ryszard Kaja influenced the graphics. Oversized fits and exaggerated proportions give the collection an 80s vibe.
