Watch Porn: Blancpain’s Fifty Fathoms Chronograph Flyback Goes Green

Since launching in 1953, Blancpain’s Fifty Fathoms diving watch has incorporated new technical solutions and innovative materials while respecting the collection’s DNA and the needs of the photographers, environmentalists and scientists exploring the depths. After iterations in black, blue and meteor grey, the Fifty Fathoms Bathyscaphe Chronograph Flyback model is going green. This new version has a rotating bezel with a green ceramic insert and a dial in subtle, layered shades of green that change according to the angle of illumination. The chronograph counters on the dial are hollowed out and snailed to create greater depth. Inside the 43.60mm black ceramic case is the F385 self-winding chronograph movement – visible through the sapphire crystal caseback. The movements flyback function measures a succession of elapsed times and can be reset to zero and restarted instantaneously by simply pressing the push-piece at 4 o’clock. The watch comes on a NATO or sail canvas strap.

The new Fifty Fathoms Bathyscaphe Chronograph Flyback Green ($17,200.00) is available now at Blancpain boutiques, including Blancpain New York 697 Fifth Ave, NY NY 10022. Book an appointment at blancpain.com.
