Reigning Champ Rowing Pack

Modern rowing as a school and club activity began early in the 19th century in England, and a little later in North America. By the 1820s teams from Oxford and Cambridge universities were organizing races, culminating in 1839 with the first Henley Regatta. Schools in the United States, Canada and Australia were holding organized races by the 1830s. Harvard and Yale held their first intercollegiate race in 1851.

By the 1940s undergrads started adopting elements of the casual attire worn by oarsmen, from the crested jackets and cotton crew neck t-shirts, to the short, cropped crew haircut meant to keep the hair from blowing into the face of the rower.

Inspired by the timeless style of competitive rowing, the new Reigning Champ Rowing Pack is made with lightweight, breathable materials in a classic palette of navy and white. Highlights include long sleeve, monogrammed rowing shirts made with RC’s all-new Three End Terry, an American-made fabric, and pique cotton polos that are durable, breathable and ready for summer. And of course – being a Reigning Champ capsule – there are a full range of seasonal sweats made with Reverse Twill Terry, a custom fabric with its tightly woven diagonal twill facing outward.
