Watch Porn: Breitling AVI Ref. 765 1953 Re-Edition

In 1953 Breitling launched the Ref. 765 AVI “Co-Pilot” (AVI stood for “aviation”), a mid-century interpretation of the airplane dashboard clocks manufactured by the Swiss watchmaker’s Huit Aviation Department in the 1930s. With a rotating bezel, oversized Arabic numerals and impressive legibility, the Co-Pilot quickly became a favorite among aviators.

The new AVI Ref. 765 1953 Re-Edition recreates the Co-Pilot to the very last detail. It has an identical 41mm stainless steel case with a bezel secured by three screws placed in precisely the same positions as those on the Ref. 765 AVI Co-Pilot. The black dial has the same Arabic numerals with tone-on-tone small seconds, and 15-minute and 12-hour chronograph counters coated with a Super-LumiNova color that recalls the original luminescent material. The 1953 Re-Edition is powered by the Breitling Manufacture Caliber B09, a hand-wound movement developed in-house specifically for historic reissues. Available in limited editions of 1,953 pieces in Stainless Steel, 253 pieces in Red Gold and 153 pieces in Platinum, with ONE OF 1953” engraved on the caseback.

Pre-order the Breitling AVI Ref. 765 1953 Re-Edition ($8,600.00) now at breitling.com.
