Converse’s Pro Leather Returns

First introduced in 1976, the Converse Pro Leather represents a distinct product evolution: It was the brand’s first full-grain leather hoops shoe to feature the Star Chevron logo. The simple white leather upper, and pops of team colors via the Star Chevron helped define Converse Basketball in the ’80s and ’90s with a revolutionary generation of high-flyers such as Julius Erving, aka Dr. J.

While the Converse Pro Leather has had its fair share of celebratory reissues over the years, this latest white/red iteration is a stitch-for-stitch modeling of an upper from a 1977 archive, remastered and more comfortable tooling.

The new Converse Pro Leather will launch October 22 at select House of Hoops locations (6801 Hollywood Blvd, Los Angeles, CA; 4089 Fulton Street, Brooklyn, NY; 226 East Fordham Rd., Bronx, NY) and October 24 on converse.com.
