Uniqlo 2019 French Open Gamewear

Uniqlo’s 2019 French Open collection brings the muted tones of the late ’70s and vibrant ’90s style color blocking to the burnt orange clay courts of Roland Garros. While the design elements are vintage, the engineered Dry Ex fabric is deliberately modern. Developed by UNIQLO and Toray Industries, sweat-wicking Dry EX is engineered for breathability. The special arched structure dries faster than ordinary dry function material, helping brand ambassadors Roger Federer and Kei Nishikori stay comfortable and focused.

2009 French Open champion Roger Federer came up with his throwback beige and off-white color scheme during “frequent consultations with [Artistic Director Christophe Lemaire and the Uniqlo Paris R&D team], and I’m extremely pleased with the game wear they’ve created.” Federer continued. “This will be my first appearance at Roland-Garros since 2015, and I’m looking forward to playing in Uniqlo game wear.”

Seventh-seed Kei Nishikori is equally pleased with his looks. “I am really looking forward to competing in the French Open wearing the game wear created together with Christophe Lemaire and the Paris design team,” he said. “The vivid colors to match the Paris season will inspire me to achieve my best result.”
