Nike BETRUE 2018 Collection

Since its inception, Nike has championed athletes of all walks of life, believing diversity and inclusion fosters innovation. The 2018 BETRUE collection represents this commitment with two prominent symbols of pride: the color lavender and the pink triangle. A shape that has a complex past in LGBTQI culture, pink triangles were used as one of the Nazi concentration camp badges before being reclaimed in the 1970s by pro-gay activists and later adopted by ACT UP in their iconic “Silence=Death” campaign. Lavender is one of the oldest symbolic references in LGBTQI culture. A blend of pink and baby blue, lavender’s historical connotations can be traced back to the early 1950s. The shades appear in the four colorways of this year’s collection: the Nike Air Max 270, Vapormax Plus, Epic React Flyknit and the Nike Zoom Fly.

The 2018 Nike BETRUE collection launches June 6 at select retailers and on nike.com.
