Inspired by the blurred social boundaries and cultural dynamism of 1980s New York City the collection mixes retro streetwear influences with Italian tailoring, creating loose, slightly boxy silhouettes for a relaxed downtown vibe. Missoni used two exclusive designs from New York based Japanese artist E-Wax on pieces throughout the collection. A brushed flannel work shirt, updated artist’s smock in shirting fabric and a fine-gauge wool crewneck have been printed with variants of one design, while another was used for an oversized intarsia crewneck in brushed mohair.
