Ilan Chétrite, Artistic Director of Sandro Homme, doesn’t seem to be familiar with the concept of background music. Chétrite has put musical iconoclasts front and center with a series of capsule collections inspired by Sonic Youth, Nirvana, David Bowie, New Order, Joy Division and The Stone Roses. His SS18 menswear collection includes a tribute to one of the best-selling musical artists of all time, pioneering Jamaican sing-songwriter Bob Marley.
The exclusive four piece range celebrates the influence of the international cultural icon with a red, gold and green T-shirt printed with Marley’s name and face ($100), a black T-shirt with Bob Marley in white flocking above his image encircled by the Tuff Gong seal ($100) and a white linen T-shirt with graphics inspired by his iconic 1977 Exodus album ($130). Finally, there’s a black hoodie with the Tuff Gong logo printed across the chest and back.
