Watch Porn: Bremont X Jaguar Bespoke Watches

Bremont Watch Company partnered with Jaguar to create a series of six unique watches inspired by the six new Lightweight E-types from Jaguar Heritage. The bespoke chronometers will be offered exclusively to buyers of the new e-types with the chassis number of the matching car printed at the six o’clock position. Other E-type inspired touches include the white gold case, made from aluminum scraps saved during the construction of the new Lightweight body panels and anodized to match the color of the car. In addition, the winding crown is engraved with the pattern of the Dunlop racing tires fitted to the Lightweights and the straps are made from the same leather used in the interior trim.

Turning the watch over reveals a further reference to the car in the form of the automatic winding rotor – visible through a sapphire crystal case back – which takes the form of a miniature alloy-spoke Lightweight steering wheel, complete with authentic wooden rim (see picture below). The back of each watch also carries the engine number of the corresponding vehicle.

The new cars are the ‘missing’ six vehicles from the ‘Special GT E-type’ project, which originally started in February 1963 with the goal of building 18 cars. Only 12 of the aluminum-bodied Lightweight E-types were built and the remaining six designated chassis numbers having lain dormant, until now. The six new cars will carry those original, historic Lightweight E-type chassis numbers.
