“Hey, Hey, My, My, Camouflage Will Never Die,” truer words were never spoken at a Mark McNairy show. Technically this truism was not spoken, it was printed on t-shirt worn by Pusha T, but if you are familiar with Mr. McNairy’s work, you know where this is going. The Mark McNairy New Amsterdam show is both one of the most predictable presentations of NYFW and one of the freshest – that takes talent. Sure, there was an abundance of camo, a sprinkling of polka dots and a variety of floral prints, but instead of feeling tired McNairy still manages to leave you wanting more. Only Mark McNairy could make a trench coat made out of the same material as your grandmother’s sitting room curtains look this hard. Maybe its the lighting, maybe its the styling… who give a damn, as long as it works. And it does.

Perhaps the most surprising moment of the show was seeing Nick Wooster walk the runway at a Mark McNairy show not wearing camo. If there’s a man in NYC who loves a camo print more than McNasty its Nickelson Wooster.
