Condé Nast Buys Stake In Farfetch.com

Condé Nast International is investing $20 million in London-based luxury retailer Farfetch.com. Launched in 2008 by José Neves, of b Store boutique, farfetch.com handles sales and fulfillment for over 250 designer boutiques in 17 countries, including The Webster in Miami, Browns in London and Confederacy in LA.

“Farfetch has a unique position, connecting boutiques around the world by e-commerce to sophisticated fashion customers like our magazine readers and website users. It’s a natural for Condé Nast,” Jonathan Newhouse, chairman and chief executive officer of CNI told WWD.

This is Condé Nast International’s largest e-commerce investment to date. Farfetch.com will use the funding to develop apps and expand its business in the US, Germany, Eastern and Northern Europe.
