When Brooks Brothers launched Black Fleece in 2007 much was made of Thom Browne’s appointment as the first in a series of guest designers to helm the label. Well six years and twelve seasons later the award-winning CFDA designer is still at the helm of the highly successful high-end spinoff. For Spring Summer 2013 Browne continues to deliver sartorial staples with an avant-garde twist. Along with Brooks Brothers classic palette of navy, black, khaki and white Browne has added bold madras and palm prints. The looks cover the spectrum from the perfect tropical weight gray wool suits, sensible navy jackets and Mad Men-worthy rep ties, to loud miss-matched madras prints and matchy-matchy all over palm printed shorts, shirts and blazers. Worn together its hard to imagine some of these combination working anywhere but the runway. But worn separately the bold jackets, shirts and trousers will delight Browne’s many fans.
