Bottega Veneta Opens First Men’s Store In NYC

Bottega Veneta opened its first men’s only store this weekend at 23 E. 67th Street, at Madison Avenue. Tomas Maier, Bottega’s Creative Director, wanted a “man-friendly” companion to the previously opened women’s only store at 849 Madison Avenue. Maier told WWD he didn’t “want to make men walk through women’s bags” to get to “what a man would like to find” in a store. The store features a new interior design concept tailored specifically to the needs of its male clientele. Along with Bottega menswear the store will carry furniture and interior design items for the Bottega Veneta Living collection.

In 2009 Suzy Menkes interviewed Maier at the International Herald Tribune’s Techno Luxury Conference about his design inspiration and Bottega’s production process. Click here to watch.
