“Serge de Nimes,” the twill cloth from which denim originated, may have come from France but nothing is more quintessentially American than denim. One of the standouts of the season is Mark McNairy’s denim jacket for Topman (second from the bottom below). This limited edition jacket is part of Topman’s Denim Jacket Project and available online or at the brand’s Soho store. At $140 you get a whole lot of McNairy for a little money (his knit polo‘s are $150).
